Bread Ahead Heads Stateside with First New York Bakery
Bread Ahead is crossing the Atlantic, with the much-loved British bakery set to open its first US location in New York this November.
Opening on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the new flagship bakery and baking school marks a major milestone in Bread Ahead’s international expansion, bringing its artisan baking, hands-on workshops and cult-status doughnuts to the US for the first time.
Founded in Borough Market in 2013 with just three products – amaretti biscuits, sourdough and brownies – Bread Ahead has grown into one of Britain’s most recognisable bakery brands, attracting visitors from around the world.
At the heart of its New York arrival will be the bakery’s legendary doughnuts, including the iconic Crème Brûlée Doughnut: a pillowy doughnut filled with vanilla crème pâtissière and topped with a layer of caramelised sugar. Across its UK bakeries, Bread Ahead now sells up to 6,000 doughnuts every day, with as many as 2,000 Crème Brûlée Doughnuts flying off the counter.
The Upper East Side opening will also introduce Bread Ahead’s celebrated Bakery School to the US. Ahead of the November launch, American customers can take advantage of an exclusive 2-for-1 Birthday Sale across Bakery School workshops in store.
From Borough Market to Manhattan – we’re incredibly excited to see Bread Ahead begin its next chapter in New York.
